So, if your mattress measures 150 × 200 cm but is 35 cm thick, a fitted sheet designed only for mattresses up to 25 cm may be excessively tight or come loose during the night.

That is why a 150 cm bed does not use a 150 cm wide flat sheet. It may need, for example, a flat sheet of approximately 240 cm to achieve enough drape on both sides.
The wider the mattress, the greater the additional margin should be.
